Neighborhood · Palisades Park, NJ
A Compact Bergen County Borough at the Southern End of the GWB Corridor
Palisades Park is walkable by Bergen County standards, shaped by a vibrant Korean-American business community along Broad Avenue, and within minutes of the George Washington Bridge to Manhattan.
Community · Overview
Palisades Park sits just south of Fort Lee and east of Leonia, occupying a compact stretch of western Bergen County that benefits from proximity to the George Washington Bridge without the traffic density of the bridgehead itself. The borough is approximately 2.5 square miles, and its residential streets are notably quieter than the commercial energy along Broad Avenue — the main commercial strip where Korean restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and specialty markets form the neighborhood's social center of gravity.
The community is diverse and has a significant Korean-American population, which shapes local commerce, school culture, and the dining scene in a way that distinguishes Palisades Park from its more homogenous neighbors. The borough maintains its own police department, public works, and municipal services, and the self-managed HOA structure at 125 Roosevelt Place mirrors that local preference for direct, accountable governance rather than outsourced management.
"The walk to NJ Transit on Grand Avenue makes this one of the more practical transit-adjacent addresses in southern Bergen County."
— Scott Selleck

From there, the West Side Highway, the FDR, and the cross-town tunnels are all within reach. Route 9W runs north-south along the western edge of the Palisades, and Route 46 provides east-west access through the county corridor toward Paramus and beyond. For reverse commuters heading to Bergen County office parks, the drive is short in either direction.

Palisades Park operates its own public school district. Students in the borough attend Palisades Park Public School No. 1 and No. 2 for elementary education, and Palisades Park High School for grades 7–12. The district is compact and neighborhood-based — most students walk to school from within the borough. The high school has a strong community identity reflective of the borough's diverse population.
Parents seeking private-school options have access to several religious and independent schools in neighboring Fort Lee, Leonia, and Englewood. Bergen County's public magnet schools — including the Bergen County Academies in Hackensack — accept applications from all county residents and are a well-regarded option for motivated students.
